Daegu University held a study-abroad fair in Mongolia to promote the educational offerings of universities in North Gyeongsang Province and attract international students to the region.

The university's Office of International Affairs hosted the "2026 Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar) North Gyeongsang Study Abroad Fair" on Saturday at Galleria Ulaanbaatar in the Mongolian capital, as part of the North Gyeongsang Province Regional Growth Talent Development System, known as the ANCHOR project.

Six universities from North Gyeongsang Province took part, including Daegu University, Catholic Sangji University, Kyungil University, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Yeungnam University and Hosanna University.

Representatives provided information on curricula, admission requirements and scholarship programs, and held one-on-one counseling sessions for local students and parents.

The fair also featured K-culture programs — including K-beauty makeup demonstrations, hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) experiences and photo zones — to generate interest in studying in Korea.

Attendees received guidance on visa and enrollment procedures, daily life in Korea and regional settlement, while staff also promoted the Gyeongbuk Hakdang Korean-language program and handled registration inquiries.

Before the fair opened, representatives from the participating universities visited local institutions and a Gyeongbuk Hakdang center to review their educational operations and discuss practical cooperation on student recruitment.

Daegu University said it plans to build on the fair by deepening ties with local educational institutions in Mongolia and focusing on attracting talented international students while nurturing those who will settle in the region. The event was carried out in connection with the K-LEARNing project under the North Gyeongsang Province Regional Growth Talent Development System.
