Samyang Corp hosted "Trilight Day 2026" on Wednesday at the auditorium on the first floor of its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, inviting about 70 executives and employees from water treatment customer companies, the company announced Thursday.

Trilight is Samyang Corp's ion exchange resin brand. The company is the only domestic producer of ion exchange resin — a synthetic resin in granule form measuring 0.3 to 1 millimeter in diameter that is prized as an essential material in advanced industries such as semiconductors and nuclear power, owing to its high separation performance and reproducibility.

The event was organized to introduce ultra-high-purity ion exchange resin products and solutions capable of meeting increasingly stringent water quality standards for semiconductor ultrapure water, and to share the latest technology trends.

The product that drew the most attention was the Maxpurity UPRM500U, a next-generation ultrapure water ion exchange resin for semiconductors. The new resin significantly reduces impurities within the resin itself, cutting sodium content by 94 percent compared with existing products and lowering the concentration of eight metals, including iron, calcium and magnesium.

New Triangle, an AI-based integrated water treatment design program developed in-house by Samyang Corp, also attracted considerable interest from customers who design water treatment systems themselves. Users enter parameters such as flow rate, source water conditions and operating hours, and the AI generates an optimized process flow diagram capable of achieving the target water quality in under one minute. Samyang Corp says it is the first company in the world to develop a program that not only covers ion exchange resin but also proposes broader water treatment solutions.

Samyang Corp also presented several other developments at the event: the Maxcapacity MA-10E, a new high-capacity anion exchange resin that raises ion exchange capacity by about 15 percent over the existing MA-10 product while offering greater resistance to physical shock and chemicals; and an update on the development of a high-purity ion exchange resin for condensate demineralization equipment used to purify and recycle water at nuclear power plants.

"We have reached the stage of managing the purity of every single bead of semiconductor ultrapure water ion exchange resin, and we will accelerate commercialization to contribute to the localization of semiconductor ultrapure water materials," said Cho Young-do, head of Samyang Corp's WS business unit. "Through New Triangle, we will also shorten water treatment system design timelines and respond more swiftly to customer needs."
