Blood Care, Fatigue Care products renewed
Cumulative sales top 1 billion units since 2004 launch
Hy has relaunched two fermented milk products — Coopers Blood Care and Coopers Fatigue Care — marking the sixth renewal of the Coopers line.
Both products incorporate hy's patented strains HY7207 and HY2782, guaranteeing 10 billion CFU of probiotics. The company also reduced fat content and added eight B vitamins.
Blood Care combines hovenia dulcis fruit extract, a liver-health ingredient, with coenzyme Q10 for blood pressure support, banaba leaf extract for post-meal blood sugar management and red yeast rice for blood cholesterol. Sugar content has been cut by about 77 percent compared with the previous formulation. Fatigue Care pairs hovenia dulcis fruit extract and milk thistle with newly added magnesium, and is designed to help relieve stress-induced fatigue, support energy metabolism and improve physical performance.
Coopers launched in 2004, with hy investing 5 billion won ($3.78 million) in research and development over three years. In 2009, the product was renewed with the addition of hovenia dulcis extract. In 2013, hy introduced Coopers Premium, featuring a dual-formulation patent container that held milk thistle tablets in the cap and hovenia dulcis extract liquid in the bottle.
A 2015 renewal added B vitamins and turmeric extract. Between 2017 and 2019, hy launched Coopers Premium C — later renamed Blood Circulation Care — which featured red yeast rice, while the original product was rebranded as Coopers Premium L. The lineup has since continued under the Fatigue Care Coopers and Blood Circulation Care Coopers names.
According to hy, Coopers sells more than 100,000 units a day on average. Cumulative sales have surpassed 1 billion units, with total revenue exceeding 2 trillion won. "Building on 20 years of accumulated expertise, we will work to establish Coopers as a daily metabolic care routine," said Choi Young-taek, head of hy's FM marketing team.
