100 million won donated to Lotte Medical Foundation for facility upgrades
Charlotte volunteer unit carries out on-site garden work
Lotte Engineering & Construction said Tuesday it held a plaque-unveiling ceremony and volunteer gardening activity at Bobahs Memorial Hospital in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
Key officials from both organizations attended the event, including Park Wang-geun, head of Lotte Engineering & Construction's safety and health management division; Kim Cheon-ju, chairman of the Lotte Medical Foundation; and Na Hae-ri, director of the Bobahs Medical Center.
The garden project was designed to provide patients and their families with a nature-friendly rest space. Lotte Engineering & Construction donated 100 million won ($75,600) to the Lotte Medical Foundation, which used the funds to renovate aging facilities in the main building and international ward of Bobahs Memorial Hospital and establish the healing garden.
Employees of Lotte Engineering & Construction also visited the site as part of the company's "Charlotte" volunteer unit. Volunteers tended the garden's vegetable plots and spread compost to help ensure patients can comfortably participate in horticultural therapy.
"We hope the healing garden will bring comfort to patients and their families staying at the hospital and aid in their recovery," a Lotte Engineering & Construction official said.
The company has maintained a steady record of medical community outreach. In 2024, it supported the creation of a sensory integration therapy room at the children's rehabilitation center of Bobahs Hospital in Hanam, helping build a stable treatment environment for young patients.
