Larger pack targets persistent and recurring muscle pain
Dong-A Pharmaceutical has launched a larger 20-tablet pack of its muscle relaxant Scapula.
Scapula is an over-the-counter combination drug containing 150 mg of the muscle relaxant chlorzoxazone, 150 mg of the anti-inflammatory analgesic ethenzamide, and 25 mg of caffeine hydrate to support pain relief. It is available at pharmacies without a prescription. The company added the 20-tablet pack to its existing 10-tablet product to address the varying duration and recurrence patterns of muscle pain.
The recommended adult dosage is one to two tablets per dose, twice daily. At the maximum daily intake of four tablets, the 20-tablet pack provides a five-day supply. The product is said to help relieve muscle pain, including shoulder stiffness, through a combined muscle-relaxing and anti-inflammatory action.
"Acute muscle pain in the neck and shoulders — commonly known as a 'muscle knot' — can persist for several days, and symptoms sometimes linger or recur," the company said. "We launched the larger pack to reflect the fact that the severity and duration of symptoms vary from person to person."
