World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus visited EuBiologics' production facility Thursday to review the company's global vaccine supply operations firsthand.

EuBiologics said Tedros, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, toured the company's second factory in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.

The visit was arranged on the sidelines of the 2026 World Bio Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the WHO.

The delegation toured key vaccine production facilities at the plant and received briefings on EuBiologics' cumulative global supply record for its oral cholera vaccine and its plans to enter the international procurement market with its typhoid conjugate vaccine, which recently received WHO prequalification.

EuBiologics has supplied more than 270 million doses of vaccines to 51 countries to date. In August, the company secured WHO prequalification for its typhoid conjugate vaccine EuTCV-J, bringing its total number of WHO-prequalified products to four, including three cholera vaccine variants.

The company plans to begin generating international procurement sales from its typhoid vaccine next year, leveraging the large-scale production and quality management capabilities it has built through its cholera vaccine supply operations.

The move is intended to diversify a revenue structure concentrated on a single cholera product. EuBiologics also plans to pursue WHO prequalification for its next public health vaccine, the pentavalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine EuNmCV-5, after completing clinical trials and regulatory approval.

Development of high-value "premium vaccines" — the company's medium- to long-term growth engine — is also advancing. Drawing on its proprietary immune-modulating technology EuIMT and antigen display technology SNAP, EuBiologics recently filed an investigational new drug application in South Korea for Phase 1 trials of PADIVAX, a therapeutic vaccine candidate targeting Alzheimer's disease that simultaneously targets amyloid beta and tau proteins.

The company has also filed for Phase 2 trials of EuHZV, its shingles prevention vaccine, which completed a Phase 1 trial involving 72 participants. The Phase 2 study is designed to benchmark EuHZV against GSK's Shingrix, and EuBiologics is exploring global technology transfer and co-development opportunities for the candidate.

"This visit was a meaningful occasion to demonstrate our production and supply capabilities in responding to global infectious diseases," an EuBiologics official said. "We will expand our international procurement experience to typhoid and pentavalent meningococcal vaccines, contributing to a stable supply and improved global vaccine access."
