Discussions to cover infrastructure expansion, related industry growth
The Korea Federation of Industries' AI Innovation Committee announced Thursday it will co-host a business forum on Nov. 2 with the National AI Strategy Committee to discuss ways to strengthen the AI data center industry ecosystem.
The forum, to be held at the FKI Tower Conference Center, was organized to accelerate the expansion of AI data center infrastructure and foster growth in related industries including semiconductors, power, cooling and networking. Participants plan to gather on-the-ground perspectives from companies in the sector and discuss policy support measures needed to address key challenges.
Attendees will include Ha Jung-woo, vice chair of the National AI Strategy Committee; Kim Chang-beom, vice chairman of the Korea Federation of Industries; Choi Dong-won, director general for AI and data policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT; and executives from major companies in the infrastructure, energy, semiconductor and equipment sectors.
Topics on the agenda include the rapid expansion and future industrialization of AI data center infrastructure, timely power supply to support data center growth, measures to promote the adoption of domestically developed AI semiconductors in data centers, and strategies to localize and internalize power and cooling equipment.
The two organizations said they plan to maintain close public-private communication to ensure that industry opinions and policy priorities gathered at the forum are reflected in the National AI Strategy Committee's future strategy development and in policy implementation by relevant government ministries.
