Recognition for overseas market development, global customer acquisition
Led establishment of Taiwan R&D center, strengthened 3-nanometer design capabilities
Secured US sales base in San Jose, expanding advanced semiconductor business
Asicland, an ASIC design house, announced Thursday that Lee Seok-yong, executive director of its global strategy division, received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the 19th Semiconductor Day ceremony. The recognition marks the third consecutive year the company has produced a ministerial commendation recipient.
At the ceremony held Wednesday at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, Lee was recognized for his contributions to overseas market development and the acquisition of advanced semiconductor design technology.
Lee spearheaded the establishment of a research and development center in Taiwan to meet global customers' demand for leading-edge processes and advanced packaging, and helped recruit local specialists. Through these efforts, the company built a foundation in 3-nanometer semiconductor design processes and advanced packaging technologies, including CoWoS (chip-on-wafer-on-substrate).
He also led the establishment of a sales base in San Jose, California. The company credited him with securing its first sales from US-based customers and expanding its overseas sales network to drive global business growth.
Asicland is the only domestic Value Chain Alliance (VCA) partner of TSMC, the world's largest foundry. The company provides design house services covering semiconductor design, verification, packaging and mass production support. Asicland also received a separate ministerial commendation in the company's name at the "K Connect AI" event held the same day.
"This award is the fruit of the collective efforts of all Asicland employees who have worked together to pioneer new opportunities in the global market," Lee said. "We will translate our collaboration with global partners into new projects and tangible business results."
