North Gyeongsang Technopark met with a high-level delegation from Vietnam's Thai Nguyen Province on Tuesday to discuss expanding cooperation in industry and technology.

The foundation hosted the delegation at a seminar room on the third floor of its main building in Gyeongsan, holding a roundtable to introduce the organization and explore avenues for greater industrial and technological exchange between the two regions.

The 13-member delegation included Dinh Quang Tuyen, deputy secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, and Nong Quang Yet, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee, along with senior officials from the health, education and finance sectors.

The visit aimed to strengthen friendly cooperation between Thai Nguyen Province — a major hub for electronics and IT manufacturing in northern Vietnam — and North Gyeongsang Province, and to benchmark North Gyeongsang Technopark's system for fostering advanced industries and supporting businesses.

During the meeting, North Gyeongsang Technopark presented its key functions, achievements in nurturing the region's core industries, and the current status of its business support programs and global Official Development Assistance initiatives.

The two sides then discussed sharing experience in establishing and operating region-specific technoparks, training skilled technical workers for industrial needs, and building networks to facilitate exchanges between South Korean and Vietnamese companies.

The Thai Nguyen delegation expressed interest in South Korea's industrial development experience and North Gyeongsang Technopark's business support systems, which have underpinned the region's innovation ecosystem. The delegation said it hoped to expand practical cooperation to upgrade local industries and develop specialized technical talent.

"Thai Nguyen Province is a strategically vital hub," said Ha In-seong, president of North Gyeongsang Technopark. "Drawing on the industrial development expertise and global technology cooperation capabilities we have built up, we will work to create a sustainable, mutually beneficial cooperation model that allows both regions to grow together."
