Gangbuk-gu in Seoul will hold the "3rd Gangbuk Craft Culture Festival 2026 — Handmade in Gangbuk" from Friday to Saturday at the Jaeganjeong area along Uicheon stream and at the Gangbuk Arts and Culture Center.

Now in its third year, the festival is designed to support local artisans in promoting and selling their work while giving residents a chance to experience and appreciate craft culture firsthand.

A craft market will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day at the Jaeganjeong area along Uicheon stream. Local workshops will take part, showcasing a range of handmade goods including bags, clothing, ceramics and accessories, which visitors can browse and purchase directly from the makers.

The program also includes hands-on craft workshops where visitors can try making items themselves, food stalls tied to local businesses, and live music busking.

At Jindalrae Hall inside the Gangbuk Arts and Culture Center, an exhibition of works by local artisans will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Twenty-one artisans will take part in the exhibition, presenting pieces that reflect their individual styles and craftsmanship and giving visitors a broad look at the range of contemporary craft work in the district.

The district hopes the festival will give local artisans a platform to promote and sell their work, expand residents' access to craft culture, and contribute to the vitality of the local commercial district.

"I hope this festival gives local artisans a chance to share their work with a wider audience, and gives residents a moment to discover the appeal of craft up close," Gangbuk-gu District Mayor Jeong Chang-su said. "We will continue to support the creative work of local artisans and do our part to help the craft and culture industry grow sustainably."
