Gyeongsan Dongui Oriental Medicine Village, operated through a public-academic partnership between Daegu Haany University and the city of Gyeongsan, held a joint session of its advisory and public relations committees Friday to review key project progress and operational results and discuss sustainable revitalization strategies.

Advisory and public relations committee members attended the meeting, held at the village's conference room, where they shared the significance of the site's redesignation as a North Gyeongsang Province wellness tourism destination. They also explored ways to develop differentiated content linking traditional Korean medicine, tourism, hands-on experiences, healing and health management, while improving visitor satisfaction.

Participants proposed several key development measures, including strengthening the integration of oriental wellness experiences and healing programs with traditional medicine clinical services, reviewing the introduction of medical and health management equipment, improving clinical and experiential facilities, developing new wellness programs, and building a sustainable cooperation framework among Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province and Daegu Haany University.

Advisory Committee Chair Yun Seong-gyu and Public Relations Committee Chair Park Dong-seop said they took pride in the collective efforts made toward the village's development. "We will join forces so that Dongui Oriental Medicine Village — the flower of Korean traditional medicine — can grow into a leading oriental wellness destination sought out by local residents and tourists alike," they said.

Choi Yong-gu, director of Dongui Oriental Medicine Village, said the cooperation of related institutions and committee members was the driving force behind the village's growth. "We will use the wellness tourism redesignation as an opportunity to strengthen our oriental wellness content and, by linking it with local tourism resources, contribute to attracting more tourists and revitalizing the regional economy," he said.
