The Cheongsong Apple Festival, one of South Korea's signature annual events, is generating strong buzz online ahead of its in-person opening next month.

Cheongsong-gun said Friday that the online Cheongsong Apple Festival, which launched Sept. 24, had surpassed 2.24 million cumulative visitors as of Thursday.

The online festival was designed to let anyone enjoy content related to Cheongsong apples and the festival itself, regardless of time or location.

Participation is straightforward: users can access the online festival by searching terms such as "Cheongsong," "Cheongsong-gun," "Cheongsong apple" or "Cheongsong Apple Festival" in the Daum portal's search bar.

The platform offers a range of interactive content — including online games and prize events alongside festival information — drawing steady user attention and engagement.

Cheongsong-gun is making thorough preparations to ensure the festival, now in its 20th edition, builds on its established reputation and takes another step forward.

Organizers are systematically advancing work across multiple areas, from setting up the festival grounds and running programs to expanding visitor facilities and putting traffic and safety management plans in place.

"We will continue to expand online and offline promotions until the opening so that the attention and enthusiasm generated online translates into actual visits, and we will do our utmost to ensure visitors can enjoy the festival safely and comfortably," Cheongsong-gun County Chief Yun Gyeong-hui said.

This year's Cheongsong Apple Festival will be held under the theme "Now, Cheongsong! Painted in Apples" for five days from Nov. 4 to Nov. 8 along the Yongjeoncheon stream in Cheongsong-eup.
