The North Gyeongsang Province Yecheon Police Station said Friday it had conducted a search and seizure of the general affairs and public communications divisions of the Yecheon-gun county office.
The search came after police, while investigating a case related to the June 3 local elections, uncovered suspected violations of the Personal Information Protection Act by civil servants.
Police plan to carry out digital forensic analysis and other work on the seized materials.
"We have not yet identified a suspect," a police official said, adding that no further details could be disclosed.
