Secures all 4 project categories
9th consecutive year as operator
Government subsidy participation through 2027
Chaevi, an electric vehicle fast-charging infrastructure operator, said Friday it has been selected as both an operator and a manufacturer under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment's 2026 EV Charging Facility Subsidy Program.
Chaevi was chosen as a charging facility operator for the ninth consecutive year and also secured a spot in the manufacturer category, which was newly introduced this year. The company was selected across all four categories — fast and medium-speed charging facility operator, slow-speed charging facility operator, fast and medium-speed charging facility manufacturer, and slow-speed charging facility manufacturer — and will participate in the government's charging facility subsidy program through 2027.
The ministry revamped its selection process this year, evaluating operators and manufacturers separately and introducing a dedicated assessment of manufacturers' technology development capabilities and charger quality and performance. Chaevi's selection across all four categories under the new framework recognized not only its facility construction and operational capabilities but also its product technology and quality competitiveness.
Chaevi attributed its selection in the manufacturer categories to its product competitiveness across a range of output levels and charging environments, from slow and medium to fast charging. The company directly produces 12 charger models ranging from 50 kilowatts to 350 kilowatts. It has also consistently participated in the government subsidy program since its early days, building field experience in facility construction, operation, maintenance and fault response.
"Being selected across all four categories simultaneously and as an operator for nine consecutive years reflects the charging technology and field operational capabilities Chaevi has built up," Chief Executive Choi Young-hoon said. "We will continue to advance our products and operational services to meet diverse charging environments in the public sector, befitting our position as South Korea's No. 1 EV charging company."
Chaevi has internalized the full value chain — from charger development and manufacturing to installation, operation and after-sales service — to offer a one-stop solution. On that basis, the company currently operates about 10,000 fast-charging stations and is leading the expansion of public and private EV charging infrastructure. It is also proactively developing ultra-fast charging technology capable of a five-minute charge in preparation for the AI and autonomous driving era.
