Dyson Korea announced Thursday the domestic launch of the Dyson Corrale CoolShine hair straightener.

The new product builds on the flexing plate technology of the existing Dyson Corrale hair straightener by adding a newly developed cooling pipe tool. The device is designed to deliver straight hairstyles while reducing heat damage during the styling process.

The flexing plates grip hair evenly, enabling precise styling in fewer passes. The cooling pipe tool then absorbs residual heat from the hair immediately after the plates pass through, rapidly cooling it. This lowers post-styling hair temperature by up to 26 percent and minimizes the time hair is exposed to high heat.

"Traditional straightening methods have relied on applying more heat to shape the hair, but Dyson's approach is different," said James Dyson, founder and chief engineer of Dyson. "The Dyson Corrale CoolShine hair straightener precisely controls not only the heat and tension used during styling, but also the cooling process that follows."

The cooling pipe tool draws on Dyson's engineering expertise in advanced thermal management. It applies the same engineering principles used in the Dyson Solarcycle Morph lamp, incorporating a sealed copper pipe filled with distilled water that absorbs heat generated by the LED.

The Dyson Corrale CoolShine hair straightener features four temperature settings, allowing users to choose the level best suited to their hair type and desired style. Lower temperatures are recommended for damaged hair or light touch-ups, while higher settings deliver more pronounced style changes for curly and coily hair.

The device also supports free voltage, eliminating the need for a separate adapter during overseas travel or business trips. It heats up in 15 seconds, allowing users to begin styling immediately.

The Dyson Corrale CoolShine hair straightener is available in two colorways — Ceramic Pink/Rose Gold and Jasper Plum — through Dyson's official website and online and offline retail channels. The recommended retail price is 429,000 won ($320).
