A 16-month-old girl suffered cardiac arrest after falling into a swimming pool at a resort in Jeju and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

According to Newsis, a report came in at around 6:02 p.m. Tuesday that the toddler had fallen into the pool at a resort in Seogwipo, Jeju.

The girl was pulled from the water immediately by her guardian.

Firefighters performed CPR on the girl, who was in cardiac arrest, and a Coast Guard helicopter transported her to a nearby hospital.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
