Event set for Friday afternoon at North Gyeongsang Province headquarters
The Korea Construction Management Association announced Tuesday that it will co-host the 19th Construction Technology Research Excellence Showcase with North Gyeongsang Province on Friday, starting at 1 p.m., at the multipurpose hall on the first floor of the provincial government headquarters.
The event aims to share outstanding construction technology research cases recently carried out by leading large construction companies in the private sector, boosting morale among research personnel, encouraging further technology development and invigorating research and development across the domestic construction industry.
A total of 18 cases will be presented across four categories: civil engineering (4 cases), architecture (4 cases), convergence (5 cases) and safety and environment (5 cases).
The association solicited submissions from member companies through a technology research excellence competition from mid-July through August, receiving 31 entries in total. It then conducted a first-round document review from Sept. 1 to Sept. 4, narrowing the field to the final 18 selected cases.
At the showcase, external experts including university professors and researchers from state-funded institutions will serve as judges and conduct a second round of evaluations of all 18 presentations. Final winners in each category will be chosen for awards including the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee Chair Award, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Award, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology Director Award and the Association Chair Award. A separate awards ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 20 to recognize and encourage a culture of construction technology R&D among construction firms.
Last year, a total of 18 outstanding technologies were also selected and recognized with awards.
