Jungnang-gu held the 31st Jungnang-gu Citizens Award ceremony Saturday evening at Yongma Waterfall Park during the Jungnang Yongma Waterfall Festival, honoring recipients for their dedication to the community.

The Jungnang-gu Citizens Award is the district's highest honor, presented to residents who have contributed to local development and community harmony. The ceremony is held each year on the stage of the district's signature festival to recognize the efforts of those who have devoted themselves to the community.

The award is divided into four categories — the Service Award, the Filial Piety Award, the Model Family Award and the Special Award — with recipients selected through on-site reviews and public input.

This year, four individuals and one organization received the honor. The recipients were Kim Mu-gyeom in the Service Award (individual) category, the Korea Youth Promotion Association Jungnang Chapter in the Service Award (organization) category, Ju Tae-min for the Filial Piety Award, Seo Ha-na for the Model Family Award, and Yun Ju-il for the Special Award. Each recipient was presented with a commemorative plaque.

"It is deeply meaningful to celebrate the dedication of our recipients together with residents beneath the Yongma Waterfall on an autumn evening," Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "It is because of those who have quietly poured their sweat for their neighbors that Jungnang is becoming an ever warmer place. We will continue to actively seek out and honor the unsung contributors of our community, building a Jungnang where every resident feels pride."
