Gwanak-gu will host the "2026 Gwanak Social Economy Community Gathering (Deulnak Nalnak, Gwanak)" on Oct. 24 along the Byeolbit Naerin Stream, bringing together social economy enterprises and residents for a day of interaction and celebration.

Selected through the district's participatory budgeting process, the event gives residents a hands-on opportunity to experience the values of the social economy and engage directly with enterprises, while also helping those businesses promote their products and expand their market reach.

Fifteen local social economy enterprises will participate, each operating an experience and promotional booth showcasing their distinct character. Residents can try a range of hands-on programs — making snacks from autumn produce, crafting EM soap, assembling eco-friendly corn-leather card wallets, and creating Braille-themed keyrings.

Alongside this, the event features a social economy OX quiz competition, a four-cut photo booth, a social economy support paper-airplane toss, and a prize giveaway. The waterside stage will host dance performances, a "well-dying" theater troupe, and magic and bubble shows, adding to the festival atmosphere for the whole family.

The event extends beyond the main venue. A pop-up promotional space in front of Time Stream at Exit 2 of Sillim Station will direct visitors to the Byeolbit Naerin Stream site. Inside the venue, the "Iruda Sangsaeng Gongjakso" experience booth will display works from its annual program and run hands-on activities for residents.

Through the event, the district aims to make the social economy more accessible and approachable for residents while broadening opportunities for direct exchange with social economy enterprises. It also plans to support the promotion of enterprise products and services and the expansion of their sales channels, with the goal of spreading a value-conscious consumer culture and building a sustainable, community-rooted social economy ecosystem.

Gwanak-gu District Mayor Park Jun-hee said he hopes the event will help residents understand the social economy more easily and experience its values firsthand in their daily lives. "We will continue to create diverse opportunities for social economy enterprises and residents to communicate, grow together and bring vitality to our community," he said.
