A special lecture on the high school credit system and university admissions, plus school-by-school enrollment information, will be offered at Seongdong-gu District Office on Oct. 27 — all six high schools in the district will participate, and one-on-one consultations with admissions teachers from schools of interest will be available.

Seongdong-gu in Seoul will host a "2027 Academic Year High School Admissions Information Session" for prospective high school students and their parents on Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the grand auditorium on the third floor of the district office.

Seongdong-gu and the Seongdong-Gwangjin Office of Education jointly organized the session to help students and parents better understand the evolving high school education system — including the high school credit system — and prepare for enrollment in line with each school's curriculum and characteristics.

All six high schools in Seongdong-gu will take part: Gyeongil High School, Geumho High School, Doseon High School, Muhak Girls' High School, Seongsoo High School and Handae Attached High School.

The first part of the session will feature a special lecture by Kim Seon-uk, a teacher at Seoul Girls' High School affiliated with the University Admissions Guidance Support Team of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Education Research and Information Institute. The lecture, titled "Understanding the High School Credit System and University Admissions," will walk students and parents through the key elements of the credit system and the information they need to prepare for university entrance.

The second part, a school-by-school information segment, will have admissions teachers from each of the six high schools present their school's distinctive features, educational programs, and career and university preparation strategies.

One-on-one consultations will also be available. Students and parents can speak directly with admissions teachers from schools they are interested in and receive personalized guidance. Walk-in registration for the one-on-one sessions opens at 6 p.m. on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those wishing to attend can register online through Oct. 20. Students and parents who miss the pre-registration deadline may still attend if seats remain. The district also plans to post session materials and a recorded video on the Seongdong-gu District Office website and its YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person.

"I hope this session helps students and parents take a close look at what each high school offers and find the right path for them," Seongdong-gu District Mayor Yoo Bo-hwa said. "We will continue to provide practical admissions information in step with the changing education landscape and to expand students' educational choices."
