Covering 228 local governments nationwide, the assessment examined four areas: service outcomes, service delivery performance, caregiver staffing, and institutional operations. The Seongbuk-gu Family Center proved its excellence through expanded caregiver recruitment and solid management, providing tailored in-home care for children under 12 in households facing child-rearing gaps due to dual-income work, illness, and other circumstances.

Seoul's Seongbuk-gu has been named to the "A" rating — placing it in the top 30 percent nationwide — in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's "2026 (fiscal year 2025) Evaluation of Child Care Service Provider Operations."

The evaluation rigorously assessed child care service providers across 228 local governments nationwide in four key areas: service outcomes, service delivery performance, caregiver staffing, and institutional operations. The Seongbuk-gu Family Center has consistently raised the quality of its child care services through sound program management, and particularly drew strong marks this cycle for expanding new caregiver hires and for its overall institutional operations.

The child care support program dispatches professionally trained caregivers directly to households where child-rearing gaps have arisen — due to dual-income work schedules, overtime, illness, or other circumstances — to provide safe, in-home care for children under 12. In Seongbuk-gu, the Family Center serves as the designated service provider, overseeing the entire process: recruiting and training caregivers, matching them with families based on individual needs, and monitoring service quality throughout.

Seongbuk-gu District Mayor Lee Seung-ro said the achievement was "thanks to the dedication of the Seongbuk-gu Family Center staff and our caregivers, who pour their hearts into keeping children safe and happy every day on the ground." He added that the district would "continue listening to voices from the field to build an even more trustworthy care environment — one where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind and without the burden of worry."

Residents seeking details on how to apply for or use the child care service may contact the Seongbuk-gu Family Center directly.
