The morning session at Seocho Culture and Arts Center will cover key points of the Aug. 3 tax reform package and a special lecture on reconstruction-related taxes, delivering practical tax information on real estate policy changes, the reconstruction regime, capital gains tax and more — with a lecture and Q&A by Kim Ho-yong, a certified tax accountant at Hwadham Tax Corporation known for his blog "Minerva Owl's Tax Story"
Seoul's Seocho-gu announced it will hold a tax information seminar on "the tax reform package and reconstruction-related taxes" at the Art Hall of Seocho Culture and Arts Center on Oct. 20 at 10 a.m.
The seminar was organized to address residents' questions about the increasingly complex real estate tax system and reconstruction issues following the announcement of the Aug. 3 tax reform package. The session will be led by Kim Ho-yong, a certified tax accountant and head of Hwadham Tax Corporation, who brings 14 years of experience in taxation — including four years in the property tax division of the Ministry of Economy and Finance's tax bureau and 10 years at the National Tax Service. Kim is also widely known as the operator of the blog "Minerva Owl's Tax Story."
The lecture will cover the key provisions of the Aug. 3 tax reform package, reconstruction-related systems and regulations, and special capital gains tax provisions for reconstruction projects — all presented in plain language tailored to residents. A live Q&A session with the expert will follow the lecture.
Registration opened Oct. 1 and the 600-person capacity filled within a day, leaving many residents unable to sign up. For those who missed out, the district plans to make a replay video available later through the official Seocho-gu YouTube channel. For more information, contact the Seocho-gu Office's tax management division.
"I hope this seminar gives residents a chance to get clear answers to tax questions that are hard to navigate without expert help," Seocho-gu District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said. "We will continue to provide useful information that makes a real difference in residents' daily lives."
