An autumn outing event LG Uplus organized for its long-term customers drew more than nine times the number of applicants it could accommodate.

LG Uplus said Monday that 46,000 people applied for 5,000 spots at its Hwadamsup forest invitation event, a competition ratio of 9.2 to 1.

The event will be held Oct. 19 at Hwadamsup forest in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. It is open to membership VVIP customers who have used LG Uplus for at least 10 years and who applied last month through the company's integrated app, U+one.

LG Uplus designed the event around Hwadamsup, one of the country's most popular autumn foliage destinations, to give long-term customers a special outing and a chance to create memories with family, partners and friends.

On the day of the event, five stamp zones will be set up at various spots throughout the forest. Customers can collect stamps as they explore the key attractions, and those who complete all five will receive a commemorative Hwadamsup magnet.

A photo program for families will also be available. Photo zones will be set up at major spots inside the forest, with staff on hand to assist with family portraits.

Alongside this, customers who share photos or reviews from their visit on personal SNS accounts will be eligible for a prize giveaway.

LG Uplus said it plans to expand its customer appreciation programs, offering long-term customers differentiated experiences and benefits going forward.

"Long-term customers are our most valued partners, who have grown alongside LG Uplus," said Jang Jun-young, executive director of LG Uplus's marketing group. "We will go beyond simply providing benefits and expand our customer appreciation programs to make our customers' time and experiences more meaningful, deepening our relationship with them."

Meanwhile, LG Uplus has continued to roll out experiential programs for long-term customers this year. In March, it invited 1,000 customers of five or more years to a performance of the musical "Lempicka." In August, it hosted a "Waterful Party" at Legoland in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, welcoming 3,000 long-term customers and their families for water activities and performances.
