The North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency held a provincial investigation commanders' meeting Friday, gathering about 100 participants — including senior investigators, precinct chiefs, and heads of investigation, criminal, youth, and traffic divisions — at its main conference hall in Andong.

The meeting was convened to establish a field investigation framework amid the implementation of the revised Code of Criminal Procedure.

Participants shared key pending issues and discussed changes on the ground expected from the revised law, along with measures to address them.

They also agreed to strengthen a field-centered response system to help the new regime take hold as quickly as possible.

The agency said it would work to narrow capability gaps among field investigation team leaders, offer incentives and recruit high-performing leaders through close management — all aimed at reinforcing a team-leader-centered investigation system.

"The final responsibility for investigations rests with the agency chief and precinct chiefs," North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency Commissioner Park Heon-su said. "I urge everyone to take ownership — especially by having precinct chiefs directly oversee major cases — so that North Gyeongsang police can earn the public's trust."
