Hyundai Capital Services has fallen victim to an AI-assisted cyberattack that exposed the personal information of housing loan agents.

Hyundai Capital said Saturday it had confirmed an attack targeting a web page used to look up its housing loan agents, carried out through overseas IP addresses.

"The compromised webpage is a page where customers check publicly available information about Hyundai Capital's housing loan agents," the company said, adding that a security review found the AI-assisted attack had leaked the personal information of 146 housing loan agents.

The exposed data included the agents' names, mobile phone numbers, resident registration numbers, email addresses, Credit Finance Association registration numbers and internal agent identification numbers.

However, Hyundai Capital said no personal information belonging to general customers had been leaked and that its internal systems had not been accessed or attacked.
