Korea Ocean Business Corp. held an opening ceremony Friday for the 8th Ocean Dream Dock, a maritime cultural complex for future generations, at Sangju Middle School in Namhae-gun, South Gyeongsang Province. Korea Ocean Business Corp. President Ahn Byung-gil and Sangju Middle School Principal Kim Bong-gyeom were among the officials who attended.

The new facility transformed an existing space on the second floor of the school's Cheongam Hall into a multipurpose cultural center available to all 86 students. It features a lounge and social area where students can relax and converse, as well as spaces for reading, small-group gatherings and a range of educational activities.

The space is equipped with a beam projector, screen and other educational equipment, along with a collection of maritime-themed books and resources, allowing students to engage naturally with ocean culture and the maritime industry. It is also set to be used for marine culture education and hands-on programs tied to the school curriculum.

The Ocean Dream Dock project — named after the shipyard docks that build vessels bound for the world's oceans — aims to help the next generation develop an interest in and passion for the sea. The initiative is expanding maritime learning spaces across the country so that children and young people can encounter ocean culture in their everyday lives.

Following the opening of the 8th location, Korea Ocean Business Corp. plans to expand the Ocean Dream Dock network to 10 sites by the end of this year.
