30,000-won discount coupon on international baggage pack offered to all new sign-ups
Promotion runs through Oct. 31 for new members joining via website or app
Jin Air announced Friday it will run a new member promotion through Oct. 31 targeting customers in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
All customers who sign up through the airline's official website or mobile app during October will receive a 30,000-won ($22) discount coupon for an international "baggage pack," which reduces the cost of checked luggage. Combined with the complimentary 15-kilogram checked baggage allowance Jin Air already provides, the coupon allows members to check up to 20 kilograms in total.
A sweepstakes event offering round-trip international airfare is also part of the promotion. Members who agree to receive marketing communications upon signing up and maintain that consent through Nov. 30 will be entered into a draw for prizes including a round-trip international ticket with a lounge-access pass and a mobile coffee coupon. Participants can enter by clicking the "Apply" button on the promotion page.
Beyond this promotion, Jin Air members can also take advantage of a range of features: earning Nabi Points, using Jin Air Pay for quick checkout, receiving personalized travel information and priority promotion alerts, saving companion passenger details in advance, and making fast schedule changes and refund requests.
The promotion runs simultaneously for customers in Japan and Taiwan as well as South Korea. Jin Air said it designed the campaign to directly acquire overseas customers and capture inbound demand in line with the growing number of foreign visitors to South Korea.
"We designed this promotion to broaden our touchpoints with overseas customers and offer practical benefits that can be used immediately upon sign-up," the airline said. "We hope customers in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan will find it easy to book tickets through Jin Air's official channels and enjoy a wide range of benefits."
Jin Air operates several social media channels to expand its reach with global customers. It currently runs Instagram accounts for Japan and Northeast Asia, and Facebook channels for the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. In August, it switched its Vietnam Facebook channel from English to Vietnamese, stepping up its localized communications.
Meanwhile, Jin Air has also been actively expanding its route network, recently holding an inaugural flight ceremony at Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2 for a new service to Yichang, a resort and cultural city in China's Hubei Province.
