Now in its third year, Herald Money Festa 2026 carries the theme "Money Rebalancing: Resetting the Weight of Your Assets." The event brings together top domestic experts to share investment and personal finance information spanning shares, real estate, financial products, tax savings and virtual assets, catering to everyone from first-time investors to seasoned wealth managers.

"If last year I said Herald Money Festa would be your wealth navigator, this year we will be a steadfast companion that helps restore balance to your assets."

Choi Jin-young, CEO of Herald Media Group, made the remarks Friday in his opening address at Herald Money Festa 2026, held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. "I hope every one of you finds the center of gravity that is right for your own assets," he said.

Now in its third year, Herald Money Festa 2026 is themed "Money Rebalancing: Resetting the Weight of Your Assets." The theme reflects the view that, amid growing volatility in financial markets, investors need to go beyond simply choosing where to put their money and instead review their overall asset allocation and management strategies.

The event features 24 personal finance experts covering real estate, shares, ETFs, pensions, gold and silver, digital assets, inheritance and gift planning, tax savings and children's education. "We have prepared substantive lectures and a wide range of side events so that everyone — from young workers in their 20s and 30s just starting to save their first paycheck, to seasoned investors in their 50s and 60s thinking about wealth transfer and tax planning — will have something to take away," Choi said.

Choi also spoke to the significance of the event's participation in Korea Premium Week 2026. "It is an honor to be part of Korea Premium Week, the first time the government, businesses and institutions have come together as one team," he said. "Herald Money Festa will also do its part to contribute to the development of Korea's financial capital markets."

Choi highlighted the importance of asset balance by pointing to this year's stock market swings. "Kospi surged past the 9,300 level during trading in June, reaching an all-time high, but was pushed back to the 5,200 range by late July — barely a month later," he said. "With sharp swings repeating multiple times in a single day, volatility has become the new normal, to the point where people started calling it the 'Roller-Kospi.'"

"When markets rise, all assets seem to rise together — but when they shake, what determines the outcome is where the weight is concentrated," he said. He added that if the answer lies in where money flows, it also lies in how that money is divided and protected, and reiterated his pledge that the event would serve as "a steadfast companion that helps restore balance to your assets."
