Lotte Mart and Lotte Super are running a low-carbon, eco-friendly youth farmer pop-up store through Wednesday at the outdoor event space on the first floor of Lotte Mart Zettaplex Jamsil in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The event is part of Lotte Mart and Lotte Super's farm partnership project "Sangsaeng Ssiat," which aims to raise customer awareness of the value of eco-friendly produce while supporting the sustainable growth of young farmers.
Six young farmers who produce eco-friendly, low-carbon agricultural products are taking part in the pop-up. Across five booths, they are selling items they grew themselves, including basil pesto, tomatoes, low-carbon Meokgol pears and mini dried kabocha squash. The participants were selected as outstanding attendees of an eco-friendly farming capacity-building program that Lotte Mart and Lotte Super held in May.
The event also features a space introducing the Sangsaeng Ssiat project and a photo zone. An eco-farming quiz will be held to help visitors feel more comfortable with eco-friendly produce.
"We will continue to carry out a range of partnership activities — from strengthening young farmers' agricultural capabilities and providing production support to expanding their sales channels — so that a sustainable farming ecosystem can take root," said Seo Ju-yeon, an official on the ESG organizational culture team at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super.
