Upcycling booth and drinks support women's trail run
Logistics high schoolers get hands-on warehouse and forklift training
Apartment parking lot hosts orchestral concert for Gimpo residents
Yongma Logis, the logistics arm of Dong-A Socio Group, has carried out a series of community initiatives using its own logistics infrastructure — converting a freight truck into a mobile stage and opening an advanced distribution center as an educational facility.
The company said Tuesday it had successfully completed a range of community programs covering resource-recycling awareness, youth logistics education and a neighborhood cultural concert.
On Sept. 13, Yongma Logis took part in the Women's Aura Trail, a women's trail-running race held around Geumgwang Lake in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, where it operated an upcycling booth.
Held in connection with the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization's "Run Gyeonggi" project, the event saw Yongma Logis team up with Shell Corporation to introduce the "Re:Born Project," which repurposes waste materials from logistics operations and promotes the value of resource recycling among participants. The Re:Born Project is part of a 2026 social and environmental problem-solving support program run by the Gyeonggi Social Economy Center.
Products from key group affiliates — including Bacchus and Bakmajel from Dong-A Pharmaceutical and Pocari Sweat from Dong-A Otsuka — were provided at the venue to help participants complete the course.
On Sept. 17, Yongma Logis held the second session of "Yongma Logischool," an educational program for about 40 students from Gyeonggi Logistics High School, at its No. 2 logistics center in Anseong.
The session doubled the number of participants from the first session in July. Students toured a third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse, examining temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled storage facilities that meet Korea's Good Storage and Distribution Practice (KGSP) standards for pharmaceutical products, as well as global logistics processes covering imports, customs clearance and warehousing. Hands-on highlights included riding an order picker — a stand-up electric forklift used for handling small quantities of diverse products — and watching a reach forklift demonstration.
The company also brought culture to local residents. On Sept. 19, Yongma Logis staged the "Culture Connection Starlight Concert" in the parking lot of the Masong LH4 apartment complex in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province. Funded by employee donations to the Community Chest of Korea, the event converted an 11.5-ton freight truck into a specially designed mobile stage, turning the complex's parking lot into an orchestral venue for 40 people.
Residents took part in conducting experiences and maracas-making workshops, and food and drinks provided by Dong-A Pharmaceutical and Yongma Logis were distributed on site. The event was organized through a consortium of Yongma Logis, arts group Merry, the Gimpo Welfare Foundation, Gimpo City's No. 2 General Social Welfare Center and the Masong LH4 complex, serving as a public-private partnership model.
"Beyond our core role in freight transport, we will pursue sustainable management that delivers social value — in education, the environment and culture — to local communities," a Yongma Logis official said. "We will continue community engagement initiatives that draw on the company's capabilities and infrastructure."
