The Ttangkkeut Sunnye Literary Hall in Haenam-gun will hold the second installment of its poetry and music concert series Oct. 10, featuring poet Park So-ran in a program themed "My Sorrow, My Poetry."
The Ttangkkeut Sunnye Literary Hall in Haenam-gun will stage the second edition of its poetry and music concert series this autumn, offering visitors a chance to experience poetry and live music together.
The poetry concert series — a rare literary program for a rural region — runs monthly from September through November, inviting prominent Korean poets to share their works and creative stories alongside poetry readings and musical performances.
Park So-ran is the featured poet for the October stage. She made her literary debut in 2009 through the journal Munhak Supcheop and has since published several collections, including "Words Close to the Heart," "One Person's Closed Door" and "Suok." Known for her delicate explorations of sorrow and wounds, she has received the Shin Dong-yeop Literary Award, the Nojak Literary Award and the Hyundai Literary Award. Her poem "Late-Night Diner," included in "One Person's Closed Door," was selected for the winter 2025 edition of the Gwanghwamun Geulpan public display, drawing wide resonance from readers.
The concert will center on the theme "My Sorrow, My Poetry," with Park sharing her works and personal reflections. The poetry-song performance group Deunggeol will also take the stage, offering an afternoon of poetry and music amid the deepening autumn season.
The event runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10 at the first-floor lobby of the Ttangkkeut Sunnye Literary Hall. Attendance is limited to the first 100 applicants, who may register by phone.
"It is a rare opportunity to meet poet Park So-ran in person," a county official said. "We hope visitors will take this special time to enjoy poetry alongside live music as autumn deepens."
Meanwhile, this year's poetry concert series will close Nov. 7 with poet Oh Eun presenting "Words of My Life."
