Pohang city in North Gyeongsang Province will host a Hanwoo beef consumption promotion event at Pohang General Stadium from Thursday through Saturday, the city announced Monday.

The event, organized by the Hanwoo Self-Sufficiency Fund Management Committee and run by the Daegu-North Gyeongsang chapter of the National Hanwoo Association, is being held in conjunction with the 9th Korea Rice Farming Households National Convention, a festival for full-time rice farmers across the country.

During the three-day event, a special discount sales booth will offer high-quality North Gyeongsang Hanwoo beef at prices below market rate.

Tasting events will also be held on site.

"This is a great opportunity to taste and purchase fresh, safe, high-quality North Gyeongsang Hanwoo at affordable prices, and we hope many residents and visitors will come out and enjoy it," said Do Byeong-sul, head of Pohang's livestock division.
