Three Marine Corps soldiers on leave during the Chuseok holiday were arrested on prostitution charges at an officetel in Incheon.

The Incheon Samsan Police Station said Saturday it had arrested the three soldiers — identified only as Private A and two others — caught in the act, questioned them and transferred them back to their unit.

According to police, the soldiers left their base Thursday and were found at an officetel in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, at around 2 p.m. the same day, where they are suspected of paying for sex.

Officers responded to the officetel after a citizen called the 112 emergency line to report suspected prostitution, then arrested the three men one by one from separate rooms.

Police questioned them about the circumstances of the alleged prostitution before handing them over to military authorities.
