South Korea's women's basketball team dominated Indonesia to advance to the semifinals of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

The team, coached by head coach Park Su-ho, defeated Indonesia 101-59 in the quarterfinal at Aichi International Arena in Nagoya, Japan, on Thursday. South Korea will now face the winner of Friday's Mongolia-China match for a berth in the final.

South Korea has reached the semifinals at every Asian Games since women's basketball was introduced at the 1974 Tehran edition. The team has won a medal at every tournament except the 2006 Doha Games, where it finished fourth — a run that includes a silver medal won as a unified Korean team in 2018.

South Korea is chasing its fifth Asian Games gold in the sport, having previously won in 1978, 1990, 1994 and 2014. Hopes for a basketball double have grown after the men's team reclaimed the top of the podium for the first time in 12 years.

Led by Lee So-hee of BNK, a sharp scorer throughout the tournament, South Korea moved through the game with relative ease. The team led 28-18 after the first quarter, fueled by six three-pointers from Kang I-seul of Woori Bank and Heo Ye-eun of KB, among others, and extended the advantage to 52-30 at halftime.

South Korea continued to pull away in the third and fourth quarters, putting the result beyond doubt early. All 12 players on the roster scored. Choi I-saem led the team with 16 points and five rebounds, while Jin An added 12 points and six assists, Lee So-hee 12 points and five rebounds, Jeong Hyeon 12 points, Heo Ye-eun 11 points and eight assists, and Kang I-seul 11 points.
