The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Friday unveiled a "Han River Sunset Spots Map" packed with tailored information to help residents make the most of the Han River's autumn sunsets. The city selected 23 locations — primarily at Han River parks and aboard Han River bus routes — where visitors can take in the views.

The map is titled "Dyed in the Han River Sunset." The city produced it as part of its nighttime economy revitalization project, linking the Han River bus service with Han River parks so people can enjoy sunsets on their commute home or on weekends. The map divides its recommendations into two categories: sunsets viewed from the riverbanks and sunsets seen from the water while riding the Han River bus.

The map also lists sunset times, which vary by season, alongside Han River bus operating hours. The city used it to suggest viewing routes that pair specific sunset spots with Han River bus connections, making it easy for tourists to plan a sunset outing.

According to the map, Han River park spots are organized into four zones: Gangseo, Nanji, Mangwon and Yanghwa; Yeouido, Ichon and Nodeul Island; Banpo and Saebit Island; and Seoul Forest, Ttukseom and Jamsil.

In the Gangseo-Nanji-Mangwon-Yanghwa zone, visitors can watch the sun sink toward the western horizon beyond the Han River bridges from near the Mangwon Han River Park ferry terminal, around Seonyugyo bridge at Yanghwa Han River Park, and near the Seoul Water Sports Center at Nanji Han River Park.

In the Yeouido-Ichon-Nodeul Island zone, the western side of Nodeul Island and the observation deck at Ichon Han River Park offer views of the sunset dropping behind Yeouido's skyline, including the 63 Building. Near Yeouido's Mulbit Plaza, visitors can see the sunset reflected on the river alongside the water fountain show.

In the Banpo-Saebit Island zone, Seorae Island lets visitors watch the sunset from close to the surface of the Han River. Around Jamsu Bridge, visitors can enjoy the sunset alongside the illuminated Moonlight Rainbow Fountain.

The Seoul Forest-Ttukseom-Jamsil zone includes the Seongsu Sky Bridge, the underside of Cheongdam Bridge and the area around Jamsil ferry terminal. From the Seongsu Sky Bridge, visitors can look out over the city center and the Han River, while beneath Cheongdam Bridge they can watch the sunset alongside subway trains crossing the river.

Along the Han River bus water route, passengers can take in sunsets as the vessel passes Nanji Han River Park, World Cup Bridge, Mapo Bridge, the National Assembly building, Dongjak Bridge, Seongsu Bridge and Cheongdam Bridge.

The city has posted the map on its official website and SNS channels so that residents and tourists from home and abroad can easily access the information on the go.
