Girl group Fifty Fifty's mega-hit "Cupid" has surpassed 1 billion streams worldwide.

According to the group's agency, Attract, "Cupid — Twin Version" had accumulated 1,002,152,452 streams as of Tuesday, earning the song a spot in Spotify's Billions Club.

"Cupid (Twin Version)" is an English-language rendition of the title track from the group's debut single album "The Beginning: Cupid," released in February 2023.

The song found a following as a leader in easy listening, praised for its polished sound and fresh vocals.

After its release, the track gained traction on TikTok after Indonesian users adopted it as background music for their content. The viral momentum carried over to Spotify, where its chart performance in turn influenced the US Billboard Hot 100. The song became the fastest K-pop group entry in the chart's history, going on to chart for 25 consecutive weeks and enter the UK Official Chart for 22 straight weeks.

Fifty Fifty debuted as a four-member group in November 2022 and, within four months, achieved remarkable success that earned them the label "miracle of a small agency." But success came alongside hardship. In the summer of 2023, the group faced an existential crisis when a contract dispute erupted — entangled with an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts and allegations of tampering by an outside production company.

After a court rejected the injunction in August of that year, founding member Keena returned to the agency to anchor the group. Attract then brought in four talented new members — Moonchanel, Yewon, Hana and Athena — reconfiguring the lineup as a five-piece. After a grueling rebuild, the group announced their official comeback in August 2024 through the Billboard K-Power 100, completing what has become a story of turning adversity into triumph.
