Staff voluntary donations fund Onnuri gift vouchers, daily necessities

The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled delivered relief funds and daily necessities to more than 30 social welfare and disability facilities nationwide in celebration of chuseok, the agency announced Wednesday.

The funds were raised through voluntary contributions from agency employees, including Chairman Lee Jong-seong. The agency distributed the money in the form of Onnuri gift vouchers to support local communities.

On Tuesday, Lee visited the Hanuri Disability Day Care Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where he presented 2 million won ($1,440) in relief funds and goods collected by staff at the agency's headquarters and employment development institute.

The agency visits local social welfare and disability facilities across the country every Lunar New Year and chuseok through its regional offices.

"It is meaningful to be able to share the warm hearts of our staff," Lee said. "We will continue to practice the values of sharing and mutual growth together with local communities."
