To be held Oct. 10 at Changdong Station's east public parking lot; some standing tickets available for purchase, general admission free
Danpyeonseon Sungandeul, Kirara, Woo Hee-jun, Melchi, Airtrain and emerging OPCD artists to perform
Dobong-gu in Seoul will host "2026 OPCD STAGE: Universe," its signature youth music festival, at the east public parking lot of Changdong Station on Oct. 10.
OPCD stands for "Open Changdong" and serves as Dobong-gu's creative support platform for emerging and professional music artists based in Changdong, the neighborhood set to receive the Seoul Arena in 2027.
Building on a range of OPCD projects, the district has held the OPCD STAGE youth music festival since 2022.
Now in its fifth edition, this year's festival centers on the theme of "Universe" — capturing the journey of emerging artists who once composed alone in their rooms and now bring their music to the stage as their own universe.
The event marks a shift away from its previous format, which leaned heavily on outside professional acts. This year's lineup features artists who took part in Dobong-gu's OPCD youth artist development program, showcasing the results of their growth.
Performances run from noon to 8 p.m. The day opens at noon with a set by Jo Hyeon, an alumnus of the OPCD Music Camp, followed by Phil Black and Mambrimz, who participated in the video-music collaboration project ColorTheBeat.
The afternoon continues with performances by Woo Hee-jun, winner of this year's Korean Music Awards rookie of the year prize; Melchi, winner in the electronic music category; and Airtrain, winner in the R&B and soul category. Son Hyo-jin, another OPCD Music Camp participant, will also take the stage with her band Muneopneunjip.
From 6:30 p.m., indie rock band Danpyeonseon Sungandeul and electronic musician Kirara — both of whom served as OPCD mentors this year — will close out the festival.
General admission is free and requires no advance booking. A limited number of standing-section tickets are available for 10,000 won through Melon Ticket.
On-site, visitors can explore a range of interactive spaces, including music experience booths run by OPCD musicians, booths operated in partnership with local businesses, and food trucks.
"As OPCD STAGE reaches its fifth year, it is becoming a stage where emerging artists genuinely grow," Dobong-gu District Mayor Kim Dong-wook said. "We will make Changdong — on the eve of the Seoul Arena's opening — a launching pad for young musicians to reach wider stages and the world."
