Dunamu, the operator of digital asset exchange Upbit, held an Upclass Financial Golden Bell event for young Seoul residents — an interactive financial quiz designed to make learning about finance accessible and engaging.

Dunamu announced Monday that the "Seoul X Upbit Upclass Financial Golden Bell," held Saturday at Dalbit Square in Banpo Hangang Park, drew about 160 participants. The event was part of this year's Seoul Youth Week, held annually on the third Saturday of September.

The Upclass Financial Golden Bell was organized under a memorandum of understanding on strengthening youth economic and financial literacy that Dunamu and the Seoul Metropolitan Government signed in July. The event's defining feature was its participatory format: rather than sitting through a conventional lecture, attendees used their own smartphones to answer quiz questions in real time.

The questions covered a broad range of topics relevant to young people's daily lives — from basic financial knowledge such as credit and loans, to digital assets including bitcoin, blockchain and real-world assets, as well as emerging financial trends. The event also addressed voice phishing, deepfakes and other forms of financial fraud that have become growing social concerns.

Organizers also included a surprise bonus quiz to introduce participants to "Young Tech," the Seoul Metropolitan Government's financial support program for youth.

Ahead of the event, Upbit distributed educational content through its official Instagram and YouTube channels so participants could study before taking the quiz. The preparation paid off: questions on financial fraud prevention — including impersonation scams demanding cash withdrawals and deepfake schemes — saw an average correct-answer rate of 98.3 percent.

A post-event survey confirmed high satisfaction. Some 84 percent of respondents said the event helped them review financial knowledge relevant to their daily lives, and an equal share said it helped them better understand digital assets and future financial trends. Some 88 percent of all respondents said they were satisfied with the quiz-based format for learning about finance.

"Working with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, we were able to lower the barrier to financial education and help young people naturally build knowledge spanning everyday finance, digital assets and fraud prevention — and that is what makes this meaningful," an Upbit official said. "We will continue to create diverse educational opportunities for young people covering financial knowledge, digital assets and more."

Upclass is Dunamu's cross-generational digital finance and asset education program, run as part of the company's environmental, social and governance initiatives. It aims to build sound financial knowledge and a proper understanding of digital assets tailored to each stage of life, from teenagers and young adults to seniors.
