Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon powers through eight events in a single day of community outreach
Seoul's Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon spent Saturday visiting community events across the district, continuing his outreach to residents even on the weekend.
Jin worked through eight consecutive engagements throughout the day — including a children's festival, cultural and arts events, and a recreational sports competition — meeting residents at each stop.
In the morning, he visited the Woori Neighborhood Kium Center Sharing Festival and a park golf tournament, checking on safety conditions and visitor convenience while encouraging participants in the recreational sports community.
The afternoon schedule was equally packed. Jin made back-to-back visits to the Magok Art Street Local Brand Festival, held along Magok Art Street, and the Gangseo Youth Arts Festival in the Magok Culture Street area near Balsan Station. He toured every experience booth at each event and took an active role in promoting the stamp tour at the Magok Art Street festival — a program that rewards visitors who collect verification stamps with discount coupons redeemable at nearby shops, aimed at boosting spending in the local commercial district.
He then moved on to the Granada Hanmadang, a community gathering organized together by residents with developmental disabilities and the broader neighborhood; a Youth Day commemorative event; the Guam Heo Jun Village Festival; and the Gangseo Culture Night Walk — engaging with residents from a wide range of backgrounds at each.
Jin is set to continue his on-the-ground schedule Sunday, with visits to the Yangcheon Hyanggyo Autumn Seokjeonje ritual, a badminton tournament, and a charity concert supporting people with developmental disabilities hosted by the Gyonam Foundation.
"I am grateful to all the residents who joined the many events held throughout our district," Jin said. "I will continue to stay by your side and keep the lines of communication open."
