Daega-myeon in Seongju-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, held an environmental cleanup event Thursday ahead of the chuseok holiday to provide a clean and pleasant environment for homecoming visitors and local residents.
About 50 members from 18 local civic organizations took part, including the Daega-myeon Sustainable Development Council.
Park Chan-gu, chairman of the Daega-myeon Sustainable Development Council, thanked participants for their efforts. "I am grateful to the members of each civic organization who willingly took part to keep Daega-myeon clean, even amid their busy lives ahead of chuseok," he said. "We will continue to work hard for the development and environmental protection of Daega-myeon."
Seongju-gun Mayor Jeon Hwa-sik also expressed appreciation. "I am deeply grateful to the residents and civic organization members who took the lead in cleaning up the local environment," he said. "Seongju-gun will make every effort to ensure that both residents and visitors can enjoy a comfortable and abundant holiday throughout the chuseok season."
