Jung to serve as channel for overseas cooperation, investment attraction

The city of Ulsan appointed Jung Woo-jin, a former ambassador to Rwanda, as its international relations ambassador on Friday to strengthen overseas investment attraction, trade support and international exchange.

Jung graduated from the Department of Diplomacy at Seoul National University and passed the 28th Foreign Service Examination before beginning his career as a foreign affairs official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in May 1994. He went on to serve as first secretary at the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam, head of the Southeast Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Bureau of South Asian and Pacific Affairs, counselor at the South Korean Embassy in Australia, counselor at the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam, and ambassador to Rwanda.

Drawing on the diplomatic experience he built while serving at multiple overseas missions, along with his economic diplomacy expertise linking investment, trade and tourism, Jung will take on the role of Ulsan's channel for international cooperation.
