The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education said Wednesday it held a two-day training session at the office's AI Education Center for Inventions in Gyeongju, which ran through Thursday.

The "2026 Second-Half Capacity-Building Training for Education Officials in Charge of Personnel Affairs" gathered about 50 school inspectors from kindergartens and elementary schools at education support offices province-wide.

The office designed the program to strengthen the expertise of personnel affairs officials at education support offices and deepen their understanding of teacher personnel-related laws and administrative procedures.

The goal was to ensure fair and trustworthy teacher personnel administration and improve consistency in how education support offices handle personnel matters.

Training centered on core duties that personnel affairs officials must master in the field, including their attitude and role, personnel-related laws and performance evaluations, and service management.

It also covered contract-based teacher appointments, promotions, qualifications, commendations, disciplinary actions and the protection of educational activities.

In particular, beyond explaining personnel regulations and administrative procedures, the program set aside time for questions and dialogue.

This allowed participants to share cases that arise during their day-to-day work and explore solutions together.

North Gyeongsang Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik said, "We will actively support personnel affairs officials so that they can handle their duties fairly, based on principles and standards, with professionalism and a sense of responsibility, and carry out teacher personnel administration that earns trust in the field."
