Specialists in law, appraisal and taxation also available on request, with department referrals and follow-up measures ensuring systematic management
Dongjak-gu will operate a "Redevelopment Open Consultation Center" to help residents better understand redevelopment and reconstruction projects and to gather a wide range of opinions from the field.
The center is part of District Mayor Ryu Sam-yeong's first official directive, "Measures to Accelerate Redevelopment and Reconstruction Projects." It is designed to improve residents' access to information on redevelopment projects and to collect resident input from the earliest stages, reducing unnecessary conflict and trial and error.
Starting Friday, the district will run the "Redevelopment Open Consultation Center" at the open district mayor's office on the first floor of Dongjak-gu Office. Sessions will be held every Wednesday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Anyone can receive expert consultation without an appointment.
For September's redevelopment consultations, five experts appointed to the Dongjak-gu Redevelopment Promotion Committee will take part according to a set schedule. They include Kim Chang-hyun, CEO of Gaonnuri F&B; Choi Gun-ho, advisor at Hyun Law Firm; and Kang Shin-bong, CEO of Changsung C&D. Also joining are Kim Hak-ju, CEO of MUM Partners, and Kim Chul-kyo, CEO of Curihousing.
The experts will be stationed at the center to advise on basic information, such as the procedures and requirements for each type of redevelopment project. They will also address the various difficulties that arise during project implementation.
Matters that require further review after consultation will be referred to the relevant departments. Issues that hinder project progress, such as disputes among residents or permitting problems, will be addressed in cooperation with a project promotion task force, with follow-up measures managed systematically.
Beyond redevelopment matters, the open consultation center will also bring in experts in law, appraisal, taxation and other fields to provide tailored consultations. Consultations outside the redevelopment field require advance application and will be arranged flexibly depending on demand.
Residents seeking consultation on legal, appraisal or tax matters can apply through Dongjak-gu Office's Redevelopment Fast-track Promotion Group or by emailing the relevant staff member.
The district officially launched the Redevelopment Promotion Committee on Aug. 19, laying the groundwork for faster redevelopment projects.
Then, in a Thursday reorganization, the district elevated the Rapid Development Bureau to its top-ranking bureau and newly established a Redevelopment Fast-track Promotion Group and a Spatial Development Project Group. The moves strengthened its organizational capacity to push redevelopment projects forward more systematically.
Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-yeong said, "Since residents' attention to and understanding of redevelopment projects matter greatly, it is important to provide accurate information in a timely manner and to actively listen to voices from the field." He added, "Through the 'Redevelopment Open Consultation Center,' we want every resident to be able to come in comfortably and find professional solutions, so that administration and residents can examine problems on the ground together as we carry out urban redevelopment projects."
