The Goryeong-gun Council in North Gyeongsang Province announced Monday that it will open its 315th first regular session, running for 16 days through Sept. 22.
The session is the first regular session held since the 10th Goryeong-gun Council was inaugurated.
The council plans to take a broad look at county administration through a review of the fiscal year 2025 settlement accounts and contingency expenditure approval, field visits to major project sites, and an administrative audit for 2026.
The budget settlement special committee will first examine the fiscal year 2025 settlement accounts and the contingency expenditure approval proposal.
The council intends to scrutinize whether the budget was spent in line with its original purposes over the past year and whether key projects achieved their planned outcomes, closely checking the appropriateness and efficiency of fiscal management.
The council will also conduct field visits to 16 major county project sites over two days, Wednesday and Thursday.
On the first day, members will visit nine sites including the Ssangnim Park Golf Course, the Environmental Sanitation Office and the Daegaya Lifestyle Village. On the second day, they will visit seven sites including the Dasan Ginkgo Forest, the Youth Culture Center and the Burye tourism area, checking the progress of key projects and gathering feedback on difficulties and areas for improvement.
The administrative audit — the first conducted by the 10th Goryeong-gun Council — will cover all departments of the main office, directly affiliated agencies, business offices and the Culture and Tourism Foundation, examining the progress of major policies and projects and taking a close look at county administration overall.
Council Speaker Na Yeong-wan said the session is significant as it marks the first time the 10th council will conduct a settlement review and administrative audit. "All lawmakers will fulfill their respective roles and responsibilities to thoroughly examine every aspect of county administration," Na said.
