Series spotlights 109 women professionals, challenging occupational stereotypes and broadening social awareness; top single video draws 12.58 million views, with cumulative views across all seasons surpassing 125.9 million
LG HelloVision's long-running flagship program "Standout Women" has won the Gender Equality Culture Content Award at this year's Gender Equality Culture Awards, recognized for breaking down occupational barriers between men and women and helping spread a culture of gender equality.
LG HelloVision announced Tuesday that its original human documentary series had received the Gender Equality Culture Content Award at the 2026 Gender Equality Culture Awards.
The annual awards honor individuals and highlight content that has contributed to promoting gender equality through creative work and activities in fields including culture, arts, sports and tourism.
"Standout Women," which premiered in 2022, is one of LG HelloVision's longest-running programs, now in its ninth season. The company said the series has authentically captured the challenges and lives of women professionals in Korean society, helping break down occupational stereotypes and build broader social understanding.
The show has featured the stories of 109 women working across a wide range of fields — including subway train operators, ship welders, scrap dealers and delivery drivers — many of them in industries long considered male-dominated.
The series has also performed strongly on online platforms. On LG HelloVision's official YouTube channel, a single episode reached a peak of 12.58 million views, while cumulative views across all seasons have surpassed 125.9 million.
"Thanks to the 109 subjects who quietly walked their own paths over the past five years, and to the viewers who responded to their stories, we were able to receive this meaningful award," said Ryu Bok-yeol, a senior producer at LG HelloVision. "Going forward, we will continue to wholeheartedly support women in their 20s through 40s living with passion throughout our society, and contribute to broadening gender-equal awareness of work and social understanding through their voices."
Meanwhile, LG HelloVision operates regional channels across 23 areas nationwide. In addition to "Standout Women," the company produces other original documentary content, including "Dangoljip."
