The Korea Housing Builders Association's Busan chapter donated 3 million won ($2,210) to the Busan Group Home Support Center on Monday.

The Korea Housing Builders Association has run a social welfare facility donation program annually through its regional chapters nationwide, and this year marks the eighth consecutive year of the initiative.

The Busan chapter selected the Busan Group Home Support Center — which provides safe housing and care for children in need of social protection — as this year's recipient, presenting the 3 million won to help children and teenagers grow up in better conditions.

"I hope this contribution helps our children, who need warmth and care, grow up bright and healthy," chapter Chairman Park Jae-bok said at the donation ceremony. "We must all pay greater attention so that every child can dream of a bright future, with none left behind."
