BNK Busan Bank announced Monday that it will deploy a "foreign supporters" program at key branches across Busan to improve financial accessibility for foreign customers.

The initiative aims to help foreign customers who face difficulties using financial services due to language and cultural barriers, providing a more accessible and convenient banking environment.

The supporters will be stationed at 14 branches, including those near universities in Busan such as Dong-A University. Made up of international students of various nationalities, the supporters will assist foreign customers with communication during banking tasks such as opening accounts, and guide them through available financial products and services.

The program is expected to improve the branch experience for foreign customers, as supporters will be able to assist in a range of languages suited to each branch's clientele — including English, Vietnamese and Burmese. The supporters are scheduled to operate at each branch according to individual timetables through the end of December.

Alongside this, Busan Bank plans to operate mobile banking units at major universities in Busan for the new semester, targeting newly arrived international students who need to open domestic accounts or obtain debit cards.
