Kim Seung-won, nominee for justice minister, paused in thought while answering reporters' questions Monday morning as he arrived at his confirmation hearing preparation office in the Jeokseon Hyundai Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Kim faces allegations that in 2021 he lobbied the then-head of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, at the request of a broker surnamed Yang, to approve clinical trials of Genencell's COVID-19 treatment.
