B2B-only event runs through Monday
Strategy targets expansion in large TVs, gaming monitors
Industry-leading brightness, lowest reflectance among key strengths
LG Display is using IFA 2026, Europe's largest consumer electronics trade show, to promote its Tandem WOLED display technology.
The company is meeting directly with B2B customers at the Berlin event to push expansion of Tandem WOLED supply — used in large TVs and gaming monitors — into the European market. With set makers from around the world converging on the show floor, LG Display also has the advantage of meeting key customers from China and other markets beyond Europe in a single venue.
LG Display launched its Tandem WOLED Tech Show at IFA 2026, which opened in Berlin on Friday (local time). The invitation-only B2B event runs through Monday.
LG Display did not set up a dedicated booth at IFA 2026. However, its OLED technology is gaining visibility through LG Electronics' OLED TVs on display at the show.
The privately run tech show is primarily aimed at introducing the Tandem WOLED brand — its large-screen WOLED lineup — to local customers. LG Display launched the Tandem brand earlier this year at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
LG Display's Tandem WOLED stacks red, green and blue light-emitting elements into separate independent layers, achieving longer lifespan, higher brightness and lower power consumption. The "W" in WOLED stands for white light source. Key strengths include industry-leading peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a reflectance rate of under 0.3 percent, the lowest in the industry.
Tandem WOLED is expanding beyond large TVs into gaming monitors, where demand from gamers is growing rapidly thanks to the technology's fast response times, high contrast ratios and strong color reproduction. LG Display is particularly ramping up supply of Tandem WOLED panels for gaming monitors to Chinese set makers.
"Given that IFA is held in Europe, it appears LG Display organized the tech show to meet local B2B customers in person," an industry official said.
